It first relates to the audience in the way that it uses a lot of stereotypical characters. This is a really good thing to attract an audience because if the audience can relate to a character they will get more interested in the program. For example all 4 main characters a teenagers going into college and the stereotypical thing is to want sex and things like that, this is exactly what happens in the show. Young people will like this show because the stereotypical characters show them or people they know. The young people always swear aswell so if you enjoy rude and crude thing this program would be perfect for you. Its a very realistic program because of how everyone in it acts. They act how real college students do so this is why its such a popular show.
The Inbetweeners also has many parts of it which people of that age go through such as learning to drive, taking exams etc. In different episodes they take daily life things and make them into jokes for example when Simon (Joe Thomas) takes his driving lesson, his teacher is a woman and passes him because she fancy's him. This will attract an audience because of the comical values. Also the fact of them taking exams and revising, all these main subjects are thrown into the very funny story lines throughout the episodes. Both of these would grab the attention of the audience because again they are things that happen in real life, the audience like this because they can relate to it.
I like the inbetweeners because of it being so much like real life. A lot of sitcoms arnt like real life because of the way things happen that makes it very staged, however you would think this is happening somewhere as you watch it and these attract the audience.
